General Venue Questions

  • The 1530 Events is a versatile wedding and event venue in Grand Rapids, MI.

    Our space is designed for wedding ceremonies and receptions and corporate events like corporate luncheons, fundraisers, networking mixers, school banquets, nonprofit celebrations, product showcases, annual meetings, community events and goal-setting retreats.

    We also are the ideal destination for personal intimate gatherings like birthday parties, bridal showers, baby showers, family reunions and so much more.

    With multiple indoor and outdoor event spaces, we can accommodate both intimate gatherings and large-scale events.

  • We offer three unique spaces:

    • Madison Ballroom

      • A large, open-concept ballroom ideal for weddings, quinceaneras, school banquets, corporate galas, nonprofit events, and fundraisers.

    • Cottage Grove Lounge & Mezzanine

      • Perfect for small gatherings, networking events, private mixers, showers and intimate parties.

    • Rooftop Garden

      • The Rooftop Garden must be booked as an add-on to the Cottage Lounge and Mezzanine. The Rooftop garden cannot be rented individually.

    There is also the option to rent all spaces for larger scale events like retreats, product showcases and weddings.

  • Madison Ballroom: 250- 300 guests depending on the floorplan

    Cottage Grove Lounge & Mezz: 80 guests

    Cottage Grove Lounge, Mezz and Rooftop Garden: 120 guests

  • Rental prices vary based on the space, day, and type of event. Our rates are competitive with other Grand Rapids wedding and event venues.

    • Madison Ballroom (4hr min):

      • M-Th: $250/hr

      • F-Su: $450/hr

    • Cottage Lounge & Mezzanine (4hr min):

      • M-Th: $100/hr

      • F-Su: $150/hr

    • Rooftop Garden Add-On:

      • M-Th: $100/hr

      • F-Su: $120/hr

  • Yes. All rentals include:

    • Tables (round, rectangle, and cocktail)

    • Chairs

    • Custom floorplan + full set up and teardown

    Linen rental is available at $14/linen

  • Yes! All rentable spaces are handicap accessible including our Rooftop Garden.

  • Free onsite parking is available to all guests. Additional street parking is also available.

WEddings: Ceremonies & Receptions

  • Yes! The 1530 Events is a full-service wedding venue that hosts both ceremonies and receptions in one location.

    When booking our wedding package, couples love the convenience of a seamless transition between ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception.

  • Our all-inclusive wedding package includes:

    • 12-hour venue rental

    • Access to the Madison Ballroom, Cottage Lounge, Mezzanine, and Rooftop Garden

    • Ceremony setup + room flip

    • Custom floor plan and event layout

    • Tables, chairs, linens

    • Full AV system with projectors and sound

    • Bridal suites and private prep spaces

    • Cake cutting service

    • Free guest parking

  • Yes! We encourage you to assemble your ideal vendor team. However, please note that your catering and bar services must be provided by The 1530.

    For other services such as your florist, DJ, decorator, photographer, coordinator, and dessert vendors, you are welcome to choose whomever you feel comfortable with.

  • Yes! We offer corporate lunch catering for pickup or delivery, perfect for team meetings, off-site retreats, staff appreciation lunches, and training days. Orders must be placed 72 hours in advance.

  • Yes! Our in-house culinary team support can support all banquet catering including wedding receptions, corporate luncheons, milestone celebrations and large-scale organizational events.

    Our service styles include plated, buffet, family-style, chef stations, and passed hors d’oeuvres.

  • Yes, with our unique bar service you may BYO beer, wine, champagne, and cocktail ingredients. Our certified bartenders handle the service, and any unopened bottles go home with you.
